Morcheeba Dives Deep
A friend tipped me off that KCRW has been playing a single from the eclectic British band Morcheeba's new album Dive Deep, which is officially being released in the U.K. today.
Drifting from soft-rock to soulful swagger to hip-hop and dreamy electronica, Morcheeba's style continues to defy a musical label. For me personally, this means I don't like everything, but there's still plenty of nice stuff whatever your taste. Instead of a single vocalist, they've collaborated with various singers. Judie Tzuke, sounding a bit like Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie, has the honors on the single "Enjoy the Ride." U.S. release will be February 18.
