Lazy Summer Day

Oh, people, I feel so hot and lazy, so you get a lazy post today.

These are some mellow songs for a lazy summer mood. I took the picture above of the matilija poppies that are blooming spectacularly near our driveway. These are big flowers--nearly four inches across. I wish I could upload their sweet smell for you too.

Relax and enjoy...and wish me some energy.

i'm probably not the best one to call upon for energy wishes, but i can tell you that that flower is absolutely gorgeous! : )

p.s. and how can i resist a song called "comfort/guilt"?

the flowers look like fluffy poached eggs. . .

Marcy: "Comfort/Guilt" would go nicely with the Notwist's "Confess[deny]". Wish I'd thought of it before!

Dulcinea: Matilija poppies ARE sometimes called "fried-egg flowers."

They are a native in our area, and we've been pretty successful with our patch.
