Wye Oak @ the Echo - 08.27.08

Opening for Shearwater last Wednesday at the Echo were Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack, the Baltimore-based duo who make up Wye Oak. Jenn is the singer and songwriter, and she can shred the bejeebers out of a bass guitar too. Andy keeps busy with one hand on the drum kit and the other on the keyboards and electronics. Together they wind lots of good ear-candy around Jenn's delightfully melodic compositions. Songs were mostly from this year's full-length CD If Children, but several were from a new album in progress.

For the next four weeks they'll be opening for Shearwater, then will continue another three weeks with Dr. Dog (Note to self: find out more about Dr. Dog).
