Yes, Virginia, There IS a Radiohead:
October arrives with a bang, as Radiohead announced on their official site, Dead Air Space, that their new CD is called In Rainbows, and it will be released this year. Click here to preorder either a discbox set (12"LP, CD, and book) to be shipped by December 3, or a digital download that will be available in ten days.
U.S. users should be aware that £40, the cost of the box set, in British currency converts to $80 in U.S. dollars. Perhaps as some kind of social experiment, Radiohead allow you to enter whatever amount of currency you think is fair for the digital download, including nothing.
Put your money where your mouth is: Do you think artists should be paid for digital copies of their music, or should they give it away?

They should be paid, but they do know that people are giving it away anyway (via file sharing, such as torrent sites).
I rather like the thought of paying a band DIRECTLY and not some money-grubbing label.
I do too, Nat. I've started linking the band's own site or record label first if they're selling the music themselves. I've recently bought a bunch of CDs directly from the artists.
Hooray for Radiohead for once more being a pioneer in the changing music industry!
