Cinco de Mayo, Dos
Is there anyplace where tacos, burritos, enchiladas, or quesadillas cannot be found? Thank Mexico for her hearty (and sometimes heart-burning) cuisine. It's the best comfort food ever, in my opinion. Here are three songs of the more traditional variety, if you want to really go autentico for your Cinco de Mayo party.
Hechale, caballeros! Los Lobos know how to get a party rocking, since they began playing traditional Mexican music for weddings, family parties, and quinceañeras. From La Pistola y el Corazón, one of my favorite albums ever.
Los Lobos: Si Yo Quisiera (lyrics)
Los Lobos: La Guacamaya (lyrics)
Tish Hinojosa has a beautiful rendition of the children's song, "De Colores."

Whenever I get a chance to request a song from the band at a Mexican restaurant, this is the one I always ask for: Linda Ronstadt's "Los Laureles" from her album of Mexican standards, Canciones de Mi Padre.

Ojalá que tenga un buen día! (Have a good day!)
