finally friday

The picture above depicts what I was through much of my early life: in trouble. Thanks Mom...now I understand everything. I love you!

elliott smith: needle in the hay [live 1996]
elliott smith: pretty (ugly before) [live 2000]
the mountain goats: no children [live 2006]
the good, the bad, & the queen: the bunting song [live 2006]
black rebel motorcycle club: hardest button to button [live 2003 white stripes cover]

  • You Ain't No Picasso has the mindbogglingly outstanding Austin City Limits lineup, which has me wondering how the hell I can get to Austin this September.

  • The Yellow Stereo's Daily Graboid feature has a track from the recently released Elliott Smith disc, as well as tracks from Mice Parade, Travis, and Great Lake Swimmers.

  • The Late Greats ranks the top 84 Wilco songs of all time, which I feel doesn't give "Passenger Side" or "Kamera" enough credit. But, as I learned at work this week, no matter what you do, someone's always going to complain about it. Nice list, Duke!

  • So Much Silence shows off the tracklisting of the upcoming UNKLE album and 15 glorious reasons for loving John Vanderslice, and pizza.

  • A new addition to my blogroll, Shameless Complacency features a track by track review of Bjork's new album Volta, plus one of my favorite pics of Thom Yorke and a great deal of Arcade Fire b-sides and rarities. Great blog!

  • Rewritable Content shows off their myspace and have a review of Xiu Xiu and Sunset Rubdown at the Troubadour, plus live tracks from both bands.

  • Mars Needs Guitars is a great friend of ours, and I'd like to send him a hug.

And that's it for today...have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to tell your mom you love her!
