Finally Friday - Covering the 60's
The rare opportunity of actual paying work has delayed today's Finally Friday, and it looks like if I don't go ahead and publish it "as is," it will end up being Finally Saturday. If I get a chance, maybe I will just catch up tomorrow.
These cover songs go way, way back to my high school days! Yikes!
Foo Fighters: I Feel Free
The first track on Cream's debut album Fresh Cream (1966). Yes, I have this on vinyl.
Joan Jett: Bits and Pieces
Original by the Dave Clark Five on Glad All Over (1964). I have this one too.
Camper Van Beethoven: Pictures of Matchstick Men
Originally by Status Quo (1968)
Herman Jolly: Yesterday
Original by the Beatles (1966). Sadly, I no longer have this album.

The Space Lady: I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night
Originally by the Electric Prunes from their 1967 debut album of the same name.

Yo La Tengo: Good Lovin'
Although made famous by the Young Rascals in 1966, this was also a cover version of a song by the Olympics.
Talk about hot and nasty! Contrast Podcast #69 takes a very adult view of Dinner For Two. Heh heh.
