My e-mail box is exploding with a lot of nice stuff. I have neglected it badly because I've been focused on going to concerts, evaluating my best of the year lists, taking advantage of the fall planting season in southern California, and buying a new vacuum cleaner. Still, the mailbox contains some fine songs that need to at least be mentioned even if I can't say more than a few words. I'll try to do some more this weekend.
Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden
With a name like this, you'd expect to hear Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden on Garrison Keilor's folksy Prairie Home Companion radio show. The influence of Mazzy Star and Cat Power are strong on these vaguely country shoegaze beauties. Nice driving music.
