Wild Sweet Orange
Preston Lovinggood, along with Garret Kelly, Chip Kilpatrick, Matt Parsons, and Taylor Shaw make up Wild Sweet Orangefrom Birmingham, AL. The Whale EP, out tomorrow, is their first release on their own label, Nervous Blood, to be followed by a full-length CD on Canvasback Music (Columbia Records) in 2008.
"10 Dead Dogs" might strike you as a strange subject for a song, but don't let the title put you off. The gentle acoustic intro will lure you in and set you up for a thoroughly listenable band that reminds me of Marcy Playground when they started out. I will be looking for more of this.
