Carter Tanton's plaintive vocals lend Tulsa an Americana sound somewhere between My Morning Jacket and Midlake, but for me Tulsa has a little something more than either--maybe a little less whiney than MMJ and a little more oomph than Midlake? I scarfed up all seven songs. Try their earlier album too, Hunting With Cats.
