A Very Special Finally Friday
Aquarium Drunkard is giving away tickets for a Jason Isbell show at Spaceland, plus Dr. John, Sonic Youth, and conversations with Beck.
Can You See The Sunset can't let go of last year (I know, I'm still thinking about 2006).
Good Weather for Airstrikes lists a list of lists.
Yellow Stereo has an awesome Daily Graboid, plus the best news I've heard yet this year: Radiohead is coming to Los Angeles on tour!
Muzzle of Bees shares that British Sea Power is coming to L.A. soon too! I want to go!
Superb Live has a great top albums list plus live tracks of almost the entire The National album Boxer.
Music is Art has lovely art, as usual, and several covers of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" (his best song, in my opinion, which I recently referred to as "Someone's on Fire").
Thanks Captain Obvious has a long list and synopses (sp?) of the movies you should catch in 2008.

an early case of emo?
This Friday marks a very important milestone: the birthday of He Might Be Giant (HMBG), my not yet "tween" son who is now as tall as I am (and taller than alt-gramma already). HMBG's music taste is corrupted by his friends and by my darling husband, but luckily has alt-gramma and I to round out his musical education. However, at his age, I listened to whatever my friends were listening to and to what was on the radio, so I'm sure he'll grow out of it. I haven't yet taken him to a concert, but I think the time is coming when three generations of my family will attend a show together.
Happy Birthday, love.
the album leaf: always for you [buy]
