Coachella: Sunday, April 27

We almost got tickets for Sunday, since there are so many bands that we wanted to see. But since this blog is ad-free and we don't make a cent from it, we decided not to stay for the last day of the festival. Listed below are some of the bands I would have liked to catch on the last day of Coachella 2008:

My Morning Jacket is a big draw for me. Although Pink Floyd was a big part of my early life, I could easily bypass Roger Waters. I haven't seen MMJ live, but I have a ton of live tracks, including their amazing covers. If you are going on Sunday, do not miss MMJ!

my morning jacket: pictures of you [live 2000] [buy]

This year, we fell in love with Sons and Daughters based on their new album, The Gift. I have to admit, I've got their song "Darling" on constant repeat on the ole iPod. Watch the video here:

Do you need more reasons? Try Gogol Bordello, Metric, Stars, Annuals, Modeselektor, Manchester Orchestra, and The Shout Out Louds, for starters.

metric: poster of a girl [buy]

I love Metric. I wish they would come back to Austin.

This is my favorite Metric song...I'm bummed that we won't see them. :(

you missed out big-time by not going on Sunday.

Manchester Orchestra was shockingly good. If you haven't seen them live, you should note their versions can be far better than the recordings. Wolves at Night was a good example.

Not only that, but you missed out on Chromeo, Justice, and Sia!

I saw MMJ at SXSW. They were awesome. I met Jim James after the show. Great guy. Gave him our CD. www.myspace.com/HTR

Well why don't you just rub it in?!

I'm sad now...
