2008 seems to be particularly rich in excellent new CDs. Here are just a few of the goodies that are out now or will be available soon:
The French Kicks
Swimming, the French Kicks' fifth album is out now on iTunes, with the physical CD slated to be on the shelves May 20. Just from the preview samples, I can tell it's absolutely delicious, with all the creamy-smooth harmonies you'd expect. The band is on tour now.

Could We Survive, the first of Joseph Arthur's planned five EP releases for 2008, is out, and if this sample track is any indication, it marks a return to style more like Come To Where I'm From (2000) and Redemption's Son (2002). The second EP of the series, Crazy Rain, is scheduled for release mid-April.

Also just released is the Annuals' new EP Wet Zoo, featuring some truly beautiful compositions by the North Carolina band. The Annuals will play the Coachella on Sunday, April 27. Stand by for a full-length release this fall.

and i hear what you're saying about the music piling up. i'm such a slow listener as it is--it takes me forever to really absorb an entire album--that i feel like i'm never going to catch up!
i might have to let a few slip by, i guess, which won't be the end of the world. : )
