Put All Your Weapons Away
Warning! Political opinion ahead.

I wasn't going to create a post today until I saw this cartoon by John Deering, creator of one of my favorite strips, Strange Brew. I am a cartoon nut. I love to laugh, and Deering is a master of absurd humor, my favorite kind.
But today's strip is too truthful and too sad to be funny, and I feel like passing the message forward. At the same time, I was listening to this song which seems to echo the tone. If I could find all the lyrics, I'd print them, but below are a few that I feel confident printing here.
Great Lake Swimmers: There Is a Light from Ongiara (2007)
I am listening to Ongiara and beginning to like several songs, even though at first I was prepared to think they were all kind of the same. Other beauties I recommend are:
"I Am Part of a Large Family"
"Passenger Song"
"Hands In Dirty Ground"
See more strange brew
