Our First Blog-iversary!

We Are One!

A year ago last Thursday, we published our first post. It was kinda lame--I can say that because I wrote it. We've learned a lot in a year.

In that time we've gone from about two readers to several hundred a day. We've initiated two weekly features: Time Travel Tuesday and Finally Friday. We've participated with other bloggers on Blogfresh Radio and Contrast Podcast.

I want to thank our readers, especially our subscribers, and our fellow bloggers who have helped, advised, and supported us and linked to us. Thanks to everyone who has left comments. Thanks to everyone who participated in our contests. Thanks to Elbows and Hype Machine for hosting us. We'll keep on bringing you music as long as it's still fun.

For Speed of Dark's first birthday:
Imperial Teen: Birthday Girl -- Live At Maxwell's

Stay with us for great old stuff on Time Travel Tuesdays:
Madness: One Step Beyond from One Step Beyond (1979)

And the very latest from this year:
Beirut: A Sunday Smile from The Flying Cup Club - MySpace
Airiel: Think Tank from The Battle of Sealand - MySpace
Zap Mama: Affection from Supermoon - MySpace
Bat For Lashes: Horse and I from Fur and Gold - MySpace
Metric: On the Sly from Grow Up and Blow Away - MySpace
Eagle Seagull: I'm Sorry But I'm Begining To Hate Your Face from The Year of the How-To Book - MySpace

Stay tuned for more album reviews, concerts, and our best discoveries, like Goldroom, Too Dark For a Picture, Creech Holler, and Deathbot.

Speaking of Contrast Podcast, listen carefully to #74, or the songs will get Stuck In Your Head!"

Happy weekend to all!
