The Sugar Oaks from Orlando, Florida, have performed with Elf Power, Dr. Dog, Voxtrot, and Delta Spirit. The band features Christopher Belt on electric, acoustic, and slide guitars, vocals, and piano, as well as Eric Hayden (vocals, piano), Matthew Gersting (bass, vocals), Jonathan Kraft (drums), and Tiffany Barnes (delightful harmonies).

The Sugar Oaks are in the studio recording their first full-length CD, No One Can Love You Like Me, following up their EP from last year, Red Grapes In the City. The new CD is scheduled for independent release in July, but in the meantime the band are releasing a single a week on their MySpace page.

Last week's single was "Girl On Girl." The current download is a demo of "Near Easter," a hookless, bluesy number with a lazy, back-porch feel. I really like their lo-fi sound, and I'm looking forward to that new album.
